SUMMARY WELL's People Team is looking for a Director of Recruiting to join our growing organization! You will work closely with our VP of People and Recruiting Team to design, build and execute WELL's recruiting strategy to attract, evaluate and hire top talent! You will be both a player and a coach, leading WELL's Recruiting Team. You have deep experience being a people coach and you are looking forward to coaching and scaling this high-performing team. You have experience with in-house startup recruiting, and know what it takes to scale a company from 200 people to IPO. Grow, develop and coach a best-in-class Recruiting Team comprised of: Recruiting Managers, Recruiters (technical and non-technical), Sourcers and Coordinators
Work collaboratively with leadership from all departments to identify priority roles; set the hiring plan for each quarter with our CFO and VP of People
Promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace and drive programs (i.e. employee referrals, sourcing, and selection) that ensure recruiting strategies attract candidates with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives
Lead the team with a data-driven approach to generate metrics to evaluate effectiveness, return on investment and inclusivity of recruiting programs; identify insights that will drive continuous improvement
Develop and manage recruiting timelines, driving our projects forward and pivoting/reprioritizing as necessary
Create an exemplary candidate experience that balances speed and quality
Assign roles to the appropriate recruiter ensuring a balance in workload for each team member
Implement scalable, metric driven approaches that will allow this organization to grow to an IPO headcount
Work collaboratively with Communications and Marketing to establish a consistent employer brand, build out Recruiting collateral, and ensure that WELL is always positioned as an employer of choice; drive attraction strategies that can be deployed across universities, conferences, networks and programs nationwide
Stay up to date with the latest recruiting trends and tools and be constantly looking to innovate
Lead semi-annual company-wide interview trainings and hiring manager interview trainings
7+ years of in-house recruiting experience; some experience being a recruiting manager
Startup recruiting experience, ideally experience taking a company of 200+ employees to IPO
Demonstrated success hiring for technical and non-technical roles in a competitive landscape, preferably for SaaS organizations
Have scaled and led high performing and highly-engaged recruiting teams
Skilled at partnering with organizational leaders to develop hiring plans, understand business changes and shifting priorities
Love data and efficiency and are able to build systems to manage both
Demonstrated success with diversity recruiting; deeply understand diversity, equity, and inclusion, and continuously explore and invest in structural changes that make the organizations you lead a place where everyone can succeed and thrive
You have a positive and optimistic mindset, you lead from a place of encouragement as an intentional and direct communicator, both verbal and written
The ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and projects at the same time
Have a growth mindset - at WELL, we will always be learners; we take steps to continue growing, learning and sharing the knowledge we have with others
You are comfortable giving helpful, constructive feedback, and also love receiving feedback yourself
Advanced skills in data analysis using Excel and/or Google Sheets to generate insights and measure our impact on the organization

For this role, we are open to candidates in Santa Barbara, CA or Los Angeles, CA. Travel to our Santa Barbara or Los Angeles offices on some regular cadence is expected.
