The Data Specialist is detail oriented and committed to high quality management of Healthcare performance measurement data. This role functions independently and works well under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met. The Data Specialist, through collaboration with third party registries, external and internal IT departments, and internal stakeholders, proactively works to ensure accurate reporting of defined metrics to support quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
Collects and validates numerous data elements from multiple sources to input into database systems.
Completes data input, error report analysis and correction, resolution of errors related to data entry, and submission of data for assigned registries and programs.
Acts as technical liaison for the Quality Reporting team to ensure BI and Reporting Workbench reports are utilize current ICD and CPT codes as updated by third party registries.
Works collaboratively with third party registries and abstraction programs to ensure that data is successfully submitted by (CWH and WVH) and received by the third party.
Achieves and maintains technical knowledge related to all measures and specifications relevant to Quality Reporting registries and projects through participation in educational sessions, webinars, and other resources; keeps abreast of all changes to programs.
Utilizes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Statistical Graphs to effectively communicate performance and assist with identification of improvement opportunities.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives as directed utilizing LEAN methodology.
Assists in the compilation and maintenance of reports, dashboards, scorecards, etc. using statistical tools and techniques.
Monitors and communicates internal and external deadlines to Quality Reporting team and other interested stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19, and will be required to meet future vaccination mandates as applicable, unless a medical or religious exemption applies.
Associates Degree or equivalent experience working in a professional setting.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office products, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Two years’ experience in health care data retrieval, data summarization, and data display. Able to perform functions of software systems administrator.
Basic knowledge of medical record review or demonstrated equivalent with good knowledge of medical terminology.
Leadership/participation in quality improvement programs and initiatives
Recent experience in Epic BI reporting, reporting workbench, Clarity, SEQL, and other reporting tools.
O = Occasional, represents 1 to 25% or up to 30 minutes in a 2 hour workday.
F = Frequent, represents 26 to 50% or up to 1 hour of a 2 hour workday.
