The City of Lake Oswego is seeking an experienced, resourceful and customer service-oriented individual who has the ability to provide analytical and specialized administrative support to assist executive and program staff with office administration and communications, and to manage overall office operations. Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support directly to the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Deputy City Manager, City Recorder, Mayor and City Council and the Redevelopment Agency.
Manage citizen issues and requests that are directed to the City Manager’s Office.
Manage the operations of the City Manager’s Office and promote operational efficiency.
Ensure excellent customer service for citizens and visitors.
Perform basic City Recorder duties in the City Recorder’s absence.
Support the City Recorder with City Council meetings, minutes, and records management.
Manage the processes for recruiting new members for City Boards and Commissions.
Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive materials and information.
Provide assistance with the budget and elections process.
Support departments in their use of the City’s Electronic Records Management System.
Support the City Recorder in providing support to the City Council and other elected officials, including development of notices, advertisement of meetings, distributing meeting packets as required, monitoring communication, and coordinating responses to Public Records Requests.
Education and Experience Requirements: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation with a High School diploma or G.E.D and four years of general office support work experience or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Desired candidates will have, or attain within three years of hire, credentials as a Certified Municipal Clerk. Desired candidates will also be certified as an Oregon Notary Public, or acquire certification within 6 months of hire.
