The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a qualified Human Resource Assistant to join our customer-focused Human Resource Office. This position will provide administrative, operational, and programmatic support while also providing support to the Talent Acquisition team in the functional area of recruitment. Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to: assisting with posting jobs in the state’s applicant tracking system (RMS), coordinating the interview process and setting up backgrounds, assisting with the onboarding of Central Office new hires, maintaining recruitment trackers, and the recruitment mailbox, file maintenance and records retention and special assignments such as assisting with employee morale-boosting events. The qualified candidate will provide top-notch customer service to internal and external customers.
Working knowledge of human resource management principles and practices, specifically in the area of recruitment. Knowledge of Federal and State Human Resource regulations. Working knowledge of the principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service to include meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Considerable experience in a professional office setting is required. Knowledge of maintaining electronic and manual files and treatment of confidential records. Excellent interpersonal skills are important in this role. Candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Mail required. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to function as a team member or team leader with other Human Resource staff and employees. Ability to work both independently and dependently in a team driven environment. Ability to analyze data, prioritize work assignments, exercise strong attention to detail and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of staff and management.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Work experience in a fast-paced Human Resource environment Working knowledge of the state’s Recruitment Management System, PMIS, HurMan is preferred. Considerable knowledge of computer applications and various databases and software programs.
