Two shifts available: 10 pm - 6 am OR evening/flex position

The Security Officer provides a safe environment for persons on company property, patrol and provides security for Kalahari property, enforce laws and company policies, and deter illegal activities from city, state and federal violators. Security Officers must observe, document, and report all policy violations and illegal activities including fire and intrusion alarms. Officers are to assist all associates and guests to ensure their safety is not compromised.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : A college course in related field is helpful. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. CPR certified preferred.

LICENSE/PERMITS REQUIRED : Valid driver’s license.

REQUIRED SKILLS : Must be able to write, read, and speak English. Bi-lingual speaking skills helpful but not required.

KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE : Must be able to work with and understand security camera systems and the basic security programs on the computer.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Prior experience in Security or Law Enforcement is preferred. Hotel or Resort experience is preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

• Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a respectful manner.
• Comply at all times with Kalahari standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

• Associates must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, courteous, and maintain good communications and teamwork to all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
• Maintain proper operation of the security equipment and ensure all hotel security standards are met.
• Obtain all necessary information when taking reports and/or statements.
• Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed.
• Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other associates.
• Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the security computer systems, cameras, and other office equipment.
• Patrol all lobbies, floors, common areas, associate areas, basement, and grounds of Kalahari Resorts.
• The ability to be proactive, flexible, and take on the most effective role at any given time.
• Be able to work with and assist local law enforcement and safety personnel.
• Provide the utmost in confidentiality with every action taken, verbally and written to protect the rights of guests, associates, and Kalahari Resorts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
