Duties Summary


About the position:
This position will be assigned to the Dix Griffith Field House.


Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of day to day operation of the JB-MDL fitness Center. Serves as desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment and adhere to Fitness center policy. Greets visitors, answers telephones, makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities, and provides information on scheduled events and classes. Provides assistance and basic instruction to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment. Issues sports equipment and completes required documentation for transactions. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Inspects all equipment and facilities according to established standards and local fire and safety procedures. Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor, Performs opening and closing procedures of facilities in accordance with written guidelines. Maintains and prepares Fitness Center facilities, grounds and equipment for daily use, programs and special functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

    • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
    • This position requires you to possess a current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and first aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
    • This position requires that you must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
    • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Qualifying Experience:
    Must have responsible experience in clerical, office, cash handling or retail sales store work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position.
