The Head of Project Management Office reports to the EVP of Business Initiatives and is responsible for driving the strategic project roadmap of the organization. Works with key stakeholders on large scale projects, mitigating risk & obstacles, setting, and executing on deliverables, and tracking and recording project milestones. Measures project success through key metrics including delivering projects on time, within quality standards, and within budget. Will be responsible for building the Project Management Office and framework, and to hire and develop a team to support the strategic roadmap. This role will interact with the executive senior management team and key stakeholders throughout the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops & implements PMO charter through engagement of executive leadership to define PMO mission, goals and operating model
  • Develops roadmap for strategic plan recommending priorities, evaluating, and consulting on necessary resources requirements and measurements for success
  • Builds and maintains relationships with leadership team and key stakeholders, and acts as trusted advisor; leverages position to advise & influence on business decisions & implementation of strategic plan
  • Applies knowledge obtained from functional partners (internally and externally) to gain an understanding of risks & challenges within each business group and makes recommendations to successfully contribute to the strategic plan
  • Understands and applies all interdependencies, demonstrating critical thinking, evaluates risk and applies risk mitigation throughout project plan
  • Identifies emerging trends and issues to effectively inform decisions
  • Manages all aspects of project lifecycle, including deliverables; ensures all project processes are completed
  • Documents all project plans and lifecycle activities
  • Promotes positive and supportive engagement across all functions-promotes supportive team environment across company
  • Identifies and leverages internal/external network with and across multiple teams to achieve business objectives
  • Own all aspects of project management KPI’s / reporting including efficiency metrics, on time delivery, quality metrics across all functional departments and other relevant analytics to clearly communicate how the business is performing on all things related to execution
  • Solves complex problems
  • Adheres to risk, regulatory and compliance controls
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This is a new role within the organization. The incumbent will initially work as an independent contributor, however, will be expected to grow a PMO as resources require.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and seven or more years of Project Management, Strategic Planning, Product Management or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience with an emphasis on influencing and advising others
  • Minimum of three years implementing and executing large scale project initiatives
  • Prior experience working within companies whose growth was technology dependent

  • Strong leadership skills with master ability to influence, negotiate and advise others
  • Deep analytic skills applied toward data driven decision-making
  • Ability to work in unstructured environment and develop structured methodologies to advance projects
  • Ability to manage and assess ambiguous information and create clear & transparent plans and processes
  • Able to recognize and apply knowledge of risks and project/program interdependencies toward successful project outcomes
  • Expert oral and written communication skills; regular interaction with employees at all levels – tailors communication to appropriate audience/level
  • Ability to navigate challenging communications while maintaining professional and positive relationships internally and externally
  • Knowledge of technology systems and company processes
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Advanced critical thinking and judgment skills
  • Technologically and financially savvy
  • Data driven with a meticulous attention to detail and ability to tell a digestible story

Preferred, but not required:

  • MBA or equivalent
  • Mortgage industry or financial services strongly preferred.
  • PMP certified

Responsibilities of this role require that the incumbent regularly reports to work at the IMC onsite office location with some flexibility to work remotely to interact with the leadership team. Within a remote working environment, it is expected that employees are readily accessible throughout the business day, responding quickly to email, chat, phone, and other communications.
This individual may be required to travel up to 15% of their time.
