We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our lean and agile team in our Mesa, Arizona facility, located at 7943, East Ray Rd. Suite #129, Mesa, AZ 85212. This role reports the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will be responsible for the day to day HR operations for their assigned regions. The successful candidate will join a growing organization and an HR department that is developing its processes. This is a great opportunity for an entrepreneurial spirited HR professional to test their abilities across a wide range of HR functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

General Requirements

  • Strictly adheres to all confidentiality requirements when handling personal and confidential information.
  • Interprets company policies and programs (such as benefits) to provide educated information to any employees or managers as needed.
  • Effectively organize and maintain required employee files and records on the company’s HRIS system and in paper form.
  • Actively develops and continuously improves a variety of HR processes to improve the efficiency of our US operations.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Prepare job descriptions with hiring manager, incorporate the candidate profile they are looking for into the recruitment process.
  • Assists with pre-screening applicants, coordinating/scheduling interviews, check-ins with candidates, candidate review and the onboarding process for all company hires.
  • Full cycle recruitment, including developing job postings, developing staffing needs, budgeting, interviewing, background and reference checks.
  • Enter new hire information into HRIS and Payroll system.
  • Develop onboarding schedules with hiring manager for employees.
  • Works cross-functionally with hiring managers and departments (ex. IT) to complete onboarding tasks and ensure new hires’ first-day experience is successful.
  • Conduct 30/60/90-day check in’s with new hires. Provides feedback to managers and HR team-members to improve onboarding experience.

Employee Development

  • Positively impacts employee relations by building professional and effective relationships with company team members.
  • Coaches and advises managers across multiple departments to create a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
  • Work with managers to evaluate employees for areas of development. Provide relevant suggestions to manager.
  • Champion internal advancement throughout company growth, while managing expectations of working in an emerging growth Company.
  • Develop succession planning with managers. Identify areas of development for succession candidates.

Compliance

  • Ensures the company maintains compliance with all federal, multi-state and local legislation.
  • Suggests updates to State Handbooks and Policies to the Director of HR.
  • Handle workers compensation applications.
  • Review work sites for health & safety compliance. Notify management immediately for any safety concerns.

HR Administration

  • Update HRIS and Payroll system information.
  • Review and update HR policies and department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Prepare HR documents (contracts, employment verifications, disciplinary documents, etc.)
  • Assist with payroll preparation, partnering with the finance team to make sure all information is correct before issuing payroll.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant Human Resources experience dealing with numerous facets of HR.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications and designations are considered an asset.
  • Prior experience recruiting for a variety of roles and levels of positions.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills – builds effective relationships across departments.
  • Proficient with technology – MS Office and applicable recruitment tools.
  • Team player – comfortable consistently working with multiple teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of US labor and employment laws, with emphasis on California.
  • Goal oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Effectively organizes and manages multiple deadlines.
