About the Opportunity:

Department: People Operations

Reports to: CFO

The Head of People Operations (HPO) is responsible for sourcing, training, developing, motivating, shepherding, and retaining the members of our team. The HPO acts as company culture champion and guardian while supporting the company executives and team leaders. The HPO is responsible for all People Operations related activities.

The HPO works closely with the Executive Team to design a team of people from diverse backgrounds who are smart, humble, hardworking, collaborative, driven, and capable of executing the Company plan. This is a key, strategic position within the company and is a member of the Leadership Team.


  • Designs, builds, and maintains 's People Operations in an effort to ensure the company maintains the people resources necessary to meet Company objectives.

Vision & Strategy

  • Partner with stakeholders to collaboratively set and execute the long-term vision for People Operations to align and support the Company Plan
  • Defining, developing, and overseeing all People Operations functions and staff
  • Constantly challenges traditional human capital processes in an effort to build and maintain a high performing team
  • Lead Change Management and Organizational Development as business needs dictate
  • Regularly drive human capital innovations that improve Team Member experience, productivity, results, and quality of life
  • Assists in building a corporate culture that ensures Team Members are engaged and doing the best work of their lives
  • Build all agendas, plans, and programs to prioritize the wellbeing of Team Members and company culture
  • Develop and report Strategic People Operations KPIs

Performance Management

  • Develop and maintain a Quarterly/Annual Performance Management program to ensure high and low performers are identified and addressed respectively
  • Remain current on individual and team performance, consistently communicating relevant information and recommendations to Team Members
  • Build flexible framework for career advancement that accommodates both Team Member interests and changing business demands
  • Partner with Managers to coach, develop, and counsel employees as individual and business needs dictate
  • Develop and report Performance Management KPIs


  • Create and implement effective recruiting program; ensuring a positive applicant experience for and high-quality candidates presented to hiring managers
  • Build candidate pipelines that represent candidate variety, diversity of perspective, and diversity of background/experience
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • As part of scaling the recruiting program, maintain standard candidate testing, recruitment program process; counseling managers on candidate selection, conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes
  • Develop and report Recruiting KPIs

Learning & Development

  • Develop and maintains the new Team Member onboarding process, ensuring employees can be successful within their department and the company upon completion
  • Work with the Leadership Team to develop scalable professional development and compliance-based programs that aid in our team's capabilities and retention
  • Works with Leadership Team to develop a robust, fun, and interesting training and certification program
  • Develop and report L&D KPIs

Values & Culture

  • Ensure Company Values are exhibited and championed throughout the organization and measured in periodic Performance reviews
  • Champion a culture of team celebration through periodic informal and formal activities
  • Develop an inclusive Plan to ensure company Culture and Values are equally accessible and celebrated across in-office and remote employees

Total rewards

  • Develop and maintain a Total Rewards program by conducting periodic reviews of Team Member salary and fringe benefits, measuring against industry benchmarks, and recommending changes accordingly
  • Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Understands all compensation options and provide recommendations as necessary
  • Develop and report Benefits KPIs


  • Maintain Employee Handbook in accordance with company culture, values, and local laws
  • Partner with Finance in annual budgeting and forecasting of Human Capital expenditures
  • Ensure company is compliant with labor laws and requirements
  • Determine People Operations systems and tools to streamline operations
  • Maintain legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records, and partnering with Counsel as appropriate
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Maintain human resource records electronically by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies
  • Keeps abreast of changes in the marketplace
