Essential Duties

is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join the Human Resources department. This role is focused on training & development, employee recognition, and social media. Duties include:

  • Coordination and presentation of biweekly new hire orientation.
  • Creating and updating training courses and participant enrollment/completion status in various software, running reports and communicating with departments on training status.
  • Researching and developing training curriculum, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitating county training programs.
  • Coordinating the county’s recognition and customer service programs to include creating and updating reports, managing inventory of program supplies, and distributing awards and certifications to employees.
  • Coordinating the county's mentorship program.
  • Creating recruitment media campaigns and maintaining the department's digital media presence to showcase the County as an employer of choice.
  • Monitoring and updating the department's internal and external websites as needed.
  • Providing back up support to the department's reception area.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field and one (1) year of human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with diverse groups of people, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is able to demonstrate proficiency in learning new software programs quickly.
Prior work experience in the areas of training and development is preferred.

Other Information

8:00 AM5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work during emergency situations.
The hiring range for this position begins at $43,383 + a competitive benefits package. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations. Please visit our careers site at for more information about our benefits.
