Indian Ridge Country Club has an opportunity for an experienced HR & Payroll Manager to oversee all functions of HR and process bi-weekly payroll.

Reporting to the Controller, this role will focus primarily on taking care of our Team Members and supporting our Department Heads with recruitment (hiring, on-boarding), employee relations, legal compliance, safety & worker’s compensation, benefits administration, and overall employee engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Generalist background, a willingness to be hands-on and ability to interact and communicate effectively across multiple levels of staff with diverse backgrounds.

Essential Job Functions:

HR Administration

  • Supports biweekly payroll for employees (hourly, non-exempt, and exempt)
  • Accurately enters employee information within established time frames.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, leaves of absence and employee benefits.
  • Acts as the central point of contact and trusted advisor for all things HR related to staff and management.
  • Leads safety program and coordinates assigned projects related.
  • Tracks employee workers compensation cases and follows up with employees, manager, insurance company as needed.
  • Updates handbook and policies as required by law and communicates employment policies and procedures so that information is understood.
  • Manages and coordinates all recruiting initiatives
  • Oversees job postings in a variety of recruiting platforms.
  • Screens applications for qualifications and forwards applications that meet the minimum qualifications to appropriate interviewing supervisor for review.
  • Properly maintains recruitment files and disposes of files using established retention guidelines.
  • Ensures pre-employment screenings are completed timely and in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Coordinates on-boarding processes for new hires

  • Collects hiring packets and other required documents according to hiring checklist and establishes personnel file.
  • Enters new hire information into online payroll system with appropriate tax and benefit information.
  • Schedules pre-employment requirements.
  • Conducts new hire orientation each season.

Manages Employee Relations

  • Responds to employee issues and concerns in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Assists with employee relations matters as needed.
  • Seeks advisement from Controller or legal counsel when appropriate.
  • Supports and promotes a positive work environment and culture, to improve employee engagement levels.

Maintains personnel files and other administrative responsibilities

  • Maintains employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Develops and updates job descriptions for all positions.
  • Ensures that personal information is up-to-date.
  • Accurately answers employee's questions and properly advises them on the correct use of leave. Promptly resolves leave-related issues.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • Manages HR functions with the ability to wear multiple hats.
  • Minimum five years of experience in human resources.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment laws.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including: listening, coaching, & training.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Able to multi-task and work under time constraints.
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred.
