There is currently one vacancy at TeWinkle Intermediate School (working 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, 10 months per year).

Under the direction of an assigned Principal, provide instructional assistance related to the use of information technology to students at an assigned secondary school; assure that hardware and software is current and operational.
The Instructional Assistant-Technology classification series is differentiated by assigned levels of instruction. Instructional Assistant-Technology I incumbents are assigned to an elementary school site while Instructional Assistant-Technology II incumbents are assigned to a secondary school site requiring a more extensive knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school, supplemented by college-level course work in technology or computer repair and two years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of computer systems, peripherals and related equipment.

The supplemental questions to the application will be reviewed and rated for certification. These questions are required at the time of application and are qualifying.

An eligibility list will be established for successful candidates which will be used to fill open positions during the life of the list.

Given the current COVID-19-related limitations on visitors at our district offices/school sites, examinations and interviewing will likely be done virtually using different online/internet platforms that require video recording or conferencing capabilities, as well as access to basic Microsoft Office Suite Software.

The written examination is tentatively scheduled for the week of August 16th. All who are successful with the written examination will be invited to the qualifications appraisal interview (oral exam) which is tentatively scheduled for the week of August 23rd. You will be notified via email regarding whether or not you will be invited to participate in the testing and/or interviewing process.

Job Responsibilities

Support secondary instructional personnel with the presentation of technology based instruction and exercises in the classroom and computer laboratory; install and maintain hardware and software campus-wide; assist teachers in integrating technology in the curriculum.
Tutor individual and small groups of students to reinforce and follow-up on learning activities; monitor and assist students in drill, practices and group activities; answer technology and information related questions for students and staff.
Demonstrate student assignments; assist students and answer questions; monitor student progress.
Develop instructional activities according to established teacher lesson plans, guidelines and procedures; prepare a variety of instructional support materials; maintain computer lab schedule.
Observe and control behavior of students in the classroom and computer laboratory according to approved procedures; report progress regarding student performance and behavior.
Assist in the preparation of a variety of technology based instructional materials and learning aids; set-up and monitor audio-visual equipment for meetings and trainings; operate and test public address equipment.
Support staff and students with on-line testing.
Maintain a variety of records and files related to assigned activities and equipment; manage and send out email communications.
Operate and maintain a variety of information technology equipment including computers, modems, printers and Local Area Network (LAN) equipment; operate a LCD projector, public address system and theater equipment as directed.
Update school website content; make changes or additions to online calendar or homepage as directed; manage the school's electronic marquee board; update board content as needed; create and print promotional materials as directed.
Troubleshoot computer software and hardware problems; perform routine maintenance repairs as needed; arrange for major repairs with outside vendors; write and submit IT work orders.
Maintain work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition; clean equipment and re-stock supplies as needed.
Communicate with faculty to coordinate activities and distribute information regarding technological developments.
Participate in staff meetings; attend in-service meetings as assigned.
Perform related front office duties as assigned.
Operation and maintenance of computer hardware systems, software applications and operating systems utilized by the District.
Principles of computer hardware systems, software applications and languages utilized.
