ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are currently seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to give guidance and expert interpretation of policy, and training to our management team to ensure best and competitive practices in the administration of our people-related policies, procedures and programs. In this role, you will help ensure the company adheres to legal and regulatory standards. You will be expected to rely on our Core Values in your decision making and problem solving.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Give consultation and coaching on employee performance improvement and disciplinary issues to managers and employees
Manage the employee complaint resolution process, including directly investigating escalated complaints as needed.
Coordinate our Background Check program to ensure FCRA compliance
Coordinate the investigation, reporting and resolution of workplace injury claims, including communication coordination between the injured worked, our company and our carrier(s), as well as modified duty assignment and the return to work process.
Communicate policies pertaining to Human Resources to employees at all levels as needed
Ensure the company adheres to legal and regulatory standards
Serve on various departmental and divisional project teams to formulate policy, procedures and programs in accordance with our Core Values, policies, and appropriate laws.
2-5 years’ experience in HR administration with prior employee relations job duties required
2-year degree or higher in HR preferred. HRCI or SHRM certification is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations and reporting to senior internal and external business leaders and stakeholders
Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations.
Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
Strong affinity for working in collaborative, team-driven environment
Displays willingness to understand, bring together and bridge diverse points of view
