  • Process payroll.

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and commission based payrolls.
  • Track employee attendance and maintain PTO balances.
  • Prepare overtime reports.
  • Change employee banking records when necessary to process payments accurately.
  • Record employee complaints, questions and concerns about payroll services and communicate those issues to Payroll manager.
  • Responsible for balancing payroll runs, producing federal, state and local tax payments
  • Review teammate changes to base salary, tax set-up, etc. to ensure accuracy of HR system
  • Be the first point of contact for AIT teammates that are inquiring about payroll-related questions, hours worked, pay rates, taxes, garnishment and paycheck discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting as required
  • Complete and provide reports to AP Department and Controller.
  • Complete and provide reports to Union.
  • Actively pursues professional development to ensure you are current and up to date on all laws and regulations
  • Ensure continuous compliance for all payroll processing functions
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all payroll, employee and any proprietary information
  • Projects and/or other duties as assigned.
  • Verify timekeeping records and consult employees about any discrepancies.
  • Record payroll data in our software system and verify all amounts prior to cutting checks.
  • Alter employee tax status as needed as well as any information about withholding.
  • Respond to employee inquiries on all payroll related matters.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Process Child Support and Wage Garnishments.
  • Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.
  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll systems.
  • Review and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards. Identify errors and work to correct errors.
  • Complete and provide monthly reports to each location.
  • Complete and submit Pension Data.
  • Works with appropriate resources to resolve any inquiries and transactions in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Entering employee information and payroll data into the system as needed.
  • Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.
  • Processing new employees, payroll changes and terminations.
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Preparing payroll reports and labor budget reports for management review.
  • Must have strong computer skills and experience in working with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assist Global Payroll Manager in processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 700 employees across 13 states
  • Manage the auditing of timeclock records, payment processing of garnishments, and all other deductions
  • Troubleshoot payroll issues as they arise
  • Oversee employee set up in ADP system for deductions and liabilities and ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately.
  • Balances earnings and deduction totals, calculates and prepares payroll entries, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions
  • Process third party vendor files, as needed, and reviews and works to immediately resolve errors or warnings.
  • Maintains company and employee payroll records, including earnings and deductions and tax withholding and setup maintenance; audit accuracy of system data on a regular basis.
  • Maintains spreadsheets of payroll information; utilizes report-writing tools to develop ad hoc reports to summarize or provide payroll information.
  • Download and store post ADP payroll reports as needed.
  • Prepare post payroll reports such as 401k spreadsheets, net check reports as needed.
  • Reviewing, verifying time keeping system and making necessary time corrections.
  • Responsible for the coordination between payroll and human resources, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Follow policy & procedures.
  • Follow all safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Complete and submit Workers Compensation Data.
  • Complete and submit 401k Data.
  • Maintain Payroll Notebooks.
  • Assists with payroll projects; maintains documentation of payroll processes and procedures and recommends changes for process improvements.
  • Supports the timely processing of checks for employees on disability and terminated employees.
  • Serves as the back-up to the Senior Payroll Administrator and takes responsibility for ensuring an error free processing of payroll as needed.
  • Initiate direct deposits.
  • Partners with Finance to obtain hours reports for non-exempt staff to ensure appropriate overtime calculations are made and processed with semi-monthly payroll.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate end to end processing of multi-state payroll across all subsidiary businesses.
  • Process leave accruals. Make corrections and adjustments as required. Zero out terminated employee balances.
  • Prepare manual checks for distribution to employees.
  • Ensure CBA, SCA, and Company Handbook Policies are being followed in regards to payroll.
  • Assist HR in entering and terminating employees in payroll system.
  • Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization.
  • Interact with third party vendor, federal, state and local taxing agencies as the business need requires.
  • Provide second level customer support for customer service transactions as well as general payroll inquiries.
  • Provide expertise, support and development of compliance policies and practices for payroll and payroll tax processes and other payroll related reporting requirements.
  • Supervise and participate in the coordination, administration and oversight of activities related to the proper execution of Payroll Unclaimed Property processes.
  • Respond to employment verification requests.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting.
  • Conducts training sessions for Paycor platform.
  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Payroll.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Assist with all other tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
  • Monitor and review timesheets.
  • Track and maintain leave accruals. Work with supervisors to reconcile updates/corrections.
  • Provide reports for 401k, benefit elections, financial reports, and other reports as requested.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance as well as other wage attachments.
  • Perform compliance for unclaimed payroll checks.
  • Maintain and update employee records.
  • Continuously seek out, suggest and implement process improvements for the timekeeping and payroll processes
  • Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
