Warehouse Department Manager is reesponsible for the efficient operation and control of all personnel on the Delivery Line. Work closely with all supervisors in manpower scheduling. Provide leadership and direction of quality to reach required goals and objectives in delivery, and related departments. Responsibilities:
  • Develop short-term and long-term goals in conjunction with Assistant Operations Manager to meet and exceed standards of performance for all operations.
  • Respond to escalated calls from Store Manager, Sales Manager and Customer Service requiring second level management intervention.
  • Provide training and coaching of associates as necessary to attain quality with productivity.
  • Working with targeted delivered business projections daily and monthly, to anticipate and forecast staffing needs
  • Works directly with store Department Managers to provide solution for all issues and areas of concern regarding customers/deliveries/Customer pickup concerns.
  • Communicate with other departments and managers as necessary to ensure customer needs are fulfilled within reason.
  • Monitor the Delivery calendar to ensure maximum daily Delivery capacity. Utilize the Committed merchandise. reports to constantly update the calendar and coordinate with sales floor daily on closed or open dates.
  • Review the shipping report for order accuracy and communicate all concerns with the logistics clerk and/or Sales Manager.
  • Maintain administration duties such as timecards, vacation scheduling, training requirements.
  • Ensure all orders make manifest. Communicate any concerns with the outside delivery company.
  • Clear communication with customers regarding any damages resulting in a pullback of a scheduled delivery with follow up information sent to all necessary parties.
  • Perform weekly and monthly handling audits providing feedback to employees and updating spreadsheet.
  • Responsible for all floor reports and inventory on the Delivery Line communicating discrepancies with Inventory Control.
  • Operate effectively and cost efficiently, utilizing manpower to meet productivity and quality standards through target planning.
  • Ensure that standards of sanitation, housekeeping, safety, and security policies/procedures are in place and are enforced as corporate direction dictates.
  • Partner with the Returns Department to ensure any/all issues have been reviewed.
  • Hold weekly startup meeting to keep the team’s knowledge current.
  • Oversee the Customer pickup Department; to include invoicing, CPU log tracking and Customer issues
  • In absence of Assistant/Operations Manager, assume all responsibilities and make decisions to maintain the overall performance of the center.
  • Staff, schedule, train assigned personnel.
  • Develop short and long term goals to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Monitors goals to ensure they are accurate and have not changed.
  • Provide direct daily management to supervisors, leadsman and warehouse personnel to ensure a safe, clean and effective operation.
  • Tracks and holds associates accountable for poor attendance and all company policies and production goals.
  • Submit monthly supply needs to the Operations Manager.
  • Assume all security/safety measures as related to the prep and handling of all delivery merchandise.
  • Cross train in all other Departments.
  • High School, some College degree preferred
  • 1 to 3 years experience
  • Inventory background, system exposure, front line management skills in leadership, organization, and communication are necessary.
  • Ability to lead, motivate personnel to achieve “teamwork” in all operations. Good overall basic understanding of distribution systems and operations.
  • Must be flexible with work schedules and be available, as needed, to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
