JOB TITLE: Bartender

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide friendly, responsive service in order to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Each bartender’s primary objective to ensure that all guests have a positive dining experience that exceed their expectations. As a bartender, you must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds
• Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages
• Take food and beverage orders from bar guests
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Silvia standard drink recipes
• Learns the names and personally recognize regulars
• Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the POS system
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable)
• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
• Be able to communicate and answer questions from guests regarding our food, beverages, and company in a knowledgeable manner
• Maintain full knowledge of food and beverage menus, recipes, and other pertinent information
• Constantly increasing knowledge of food, beverages, and other products and services
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar manager
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
• Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through your actions
• Work as a team with all personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
• Keep bar fully stocked including related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins/straws
• Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Silvia standards at all times
• Be attentive – offer assistance before the guests have to ask for it
• Anticipate your guest’s needs. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.) and acknowledge the guest so they know you will be right with them
• Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
• Prep syrups, infusions, purees, juices, and garnishes
• Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
• Restock and clean for next day’s service
• Assist with special events as needed
• Responsible service of alcohol. Should a guest reach the state you do not feel they should drive, offer taxi service. Ask for management intervention if necessary
• Adhere to all company policies and service guidelines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $7.50 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends

• bartending: 2 years (Required)
