JOB TITLE: Resilience Corps Program Coordinator (Temporary until December 2021, with possible extension)
DEPARTMENT: Environmental Projects
REPORTS TO: Resilience Corps Operations Manager
FLSA STATUS: Temporary / Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $27.00$31.00 per hour (depending on experience)
LOCATION: 2650 Senter Rd, San Jose, CA 95111
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional weekend work
Job Summary Under the direction of the Resilience Program Manager, the Resilience Coordinator has responsibility for managing the daily operations of the field crews, training of field supervisors, and organization and management of large special projects.
Position Description The Resilience Corps Program Coordinator is responsible for providing direct leadership and support to project field crews and assisting Project Site Supervisors in training and logistical coordination. The Resilience Corps Program Coordinator is responsible for operations, ensuring that Projects crews are adequately trained and prepared to perform high-quality project work in a positive, safe, and productive environment.
The Resilience Corps Program Coordinator is expected to provide leadership and support field crews with programmatic goals and support of field crews and operations will include but not be limited to: working with crews at their project sites, assisting in training crew leaders and members, performing project site visits, managing logistics for standard and specialized crews, maintaining tools and equipment, helping in the field office, and provide safety training to all new Corpsmembers during orientation and supervisors.
Job Responsibilities
  • Conducts site visits and provides feedback memos to supervisors.
  • Ensures project quality.
  • Assists in training new site supervisors.
  • Substitutes for site supervisors when a site supervisor is sick or on vacation.
  • Manage tools and assign tools.
  • Administrative functions such as scheduling of work, hour allocation and reconciliation, and attendance tracking.
  • Be familiar with, enforce, and ensure that all required and applicable Cal OSHA safety and vehicle traffic regulations are implemented by assigned crew supervisors and Corpsmembers.
  • Substitutes for site supervisors when a site supervisor is sick or on vacation.

Job Requirements
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a team or crew-based setting working with young adults, preferably in an on-the-job work training program.
  • Demonstrated outdoor leadership and skills.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to self-direct, problem solve, be creative, manage conflict and be flexible to meet programmatic goals.
  • California Class C license with a clean DMV record.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and first aid.
  • Trail maintenance and construction experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
Typical Working Conditions:
Full-time in the field with occasional office work. When performing fieldwork, will be subjected to weather conditions within Santa Clara County (moderate range of temperature/inclement weather).
Equipment Used:
Will be utilizing power tools and hand tools frequently, and occasionally IT equipment including but not limited to, computers, tablets, and smartphones. May occasionally drive company vehicles with proper training.
Essential Physical Tasks:
Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to drive or at least be capable of being trained to drive different vehicles, and able to sit for a long period of time.
